“Horton Hears a Who” is a fresh and pretty enjoyable animation. Thanks to its directors Jimmy Hayward and Steve Martino. Animation was produced under the auspices of XX Century Fox. Horton is a really bright and positive movie.

Tiny people living on the fluff, evil kangaroo, kind elephant… – it sounds like a child, and looks basically the same. However, despite the clear direction toward a children’s audience, this animation is still very interesting for adults. “Horton Hears a Who” is kind, funny and exciting. The movie has two deep moralities.

First – Do not make mountains out of molehills.

Second – if you do something not seeing it, it does not mean that it does not exist.

Horton is an elephant, living in a civilized society of the jungle beasts. He has unusual ears. No, he does not fly, flapping them like wings, like a baby elephant Dumbo. He just hears. What? -  The voices of the inhabitants of the microcosm. His neighbors don’t believe the elephant’s tails about conversation with flowers.

What is so good in “Horton Hears a Who”? Well, for example, that there is no link between people and animals. Another good thing is that humor here is really great. Whether you are child or adult you’ll laugh over jokes. And the most important is the following morality: do not want to swear, spit and scream: “What the garbage? You already got the brains to load their sermons!”

Interesting facts:

• “Horton” is the second film starring Jim Carrey, basing on the stories of Dr. Seuss. The first was “How the Grinch – Stole Christmas.”
• In one scene, baby kangaroo mentions his imaginary friend named «Thidwick». This is a reference to a different Dr. Seuss stories – «Thidwick the Big-Heart».
• Some of the trees, noticed in the cartoon, reminiscent Trees Trufula from another Dr. Seuss story «Lorax».

”Horton Hears a Who” is unusual movie. Funny elephant, which teaches children to imagine? A revolutionary or just crazy? No, Horton – is someone great, those who we believe. Those who are willing to imagine a lighter than air and dare to take on the most rickety bridge and go over three hundred million heads of clover, only to deliver “a stupid flower” to the mountains, where the dust particle does not hurt. Can we do that? Can understand, recognize and follow his example? I think yes. Even now we do not feel. After all, as it may sound trite, a person simply programmed to good deeds, but we often forget about it.
