Plot

The best kung-fu coach in China, impeccable master of Shifu once made a mistake. He took a snow leopard Tai Lung, brought him up as an own son and taught him all the subtleties of martial arts. But the coach didn’t notice a dark essence of Tai Lung.

Now snow leopard is dangerous for all inhabitants of the Valley of Peace. Only Warrior of the Dragon can confront relentless and invincible Tai Lung. This warrior is a fat, clumsy, lazy panda who dreams to understand the ancient teachings of kung-fu. He is taught by the strict guidance of Shifu master. Panda learns how to turn his weakness into advantage.

Creators of animated films “Shrek” and “Madagascar” presented a new movie. As usual, it’s quite funny and interesting for all ages and all categories of viewers. I can hardly say that this time dream Works made something exclusive and fundamentally different. No, the movie plot is a bit predictable. But main characters are bright and interesting.

“Kung Fu Panda” is another representative of the modern animation pop culture. But the interesting thing is that we see the ancient Chinese traditions and learn more about different martial arts. The animation shows so-called “Oriental Fever” – a massive enthusiasm with wisdom, mystery, complexity of the cultures of China, Korea and Japan. The movie is similar to “Hero” and “Couching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” movies.

Interesting Facts

• The names of the main characters are chosen from the real Chinese words. Shifu means “teacher””, Tai Lung is “great dragon”, and Oogway is “Turtle”.
• The movie was nominated for Oscar and won Golden Globe
• According to his online diary, Jackie Chan recorded his voice-overs during a single 5 hour recording session in LA on October 15, 2007. He also recorded his lines for the Mandarin and Cantonese versions.
