At the beginning of “Ponyo” animation we see a small fish living in a big underwater house with her sisters and father. Once when her father take the family in navigation, Ponyo realizes that she wants to see more than just underwater life. She swims away from her home but suddenly gets stuck in a bottle. Thus she finds herself on the sea coast.

Five-year-old boy Sōsuke finds Ponyo and takes her home. They become friends. The boy promises Ponyo to protect her forever. That time Ponyo’s father is looking for his daughter and finds her at least. Ponyo has to come back home. The small fish dreams to become a human girl. She realizes that she loves Sōsuke. She leaves her home once again. The great storm starts but Ponyo goes through it. At least she finds her boyfriend. Sōsuke kisses Ponyo and she transfers into girl…

Plot

The best kung-fu coach in China, impeccable master of Shifu once made a mistake. He took a snow leopard Tai Lung, brought him up as an own son and taught him all the subtleties of martial arts. But the coach didn’t notice a dark essence of Tai Lung.

I can hardly say that this time dream Works made something exclusive and fundamentally different. No, the movie plot is a bit predictable. But main characters are bright and interesting.

“Kung Fu Panda” is another representative of the modern animation pop culture. But the interesting thing is that we see the ancient Chinese traditions and learn more about different martial arts. The animation shows so-called “Oriental Fever” – a massive enthusiasm with wisdom, mystery, complexity of the cultures of China, Korea and Japan. “Open Season” is the feature-length animated movie made by Sony Pictures Company where all extremes of the animal world converge in unexpected ways.

Grizzly bear named Boog grows up among the people; he is completely manual and has no idea about the life of wild animals. He lives in a small quiet town Timberline with his mother Beth. One day he meets a wild forest reindeer Eliot. Elliot is a skinny, thin unicorn.

Mary and Max

The animation director is Adam Elliot. He won Oscar in 2003 for his legendary short animation “Harvey Krumpet”. Elliot is a famous Australian figure. He started his career with three tragic-comedies: “Uncle”, “Brother” and “Cousin”. They were made when Adam was a student of Melbourne College. He studied Arts. “Mary and Max” became his next work where he implemented all ambitions and skills of young master.

“Mary and Max” is an unusual movie. It started with a girl reading the phone book and looking for casual name to write him a letter. The story is touching and emotional. Doogal recommends it to every of you!

Mary Daisy Dinkle is a lonely eight-year-old girl. She lives in Australia in an unhappy family. She has no friends and dreams of finding at least one person to share her problems. One time she takes an office phone book and starts looking for someone to write him a letter. He meets an American named Max Jerry Horovitz. He lives in New York so Mary decides to write him. Here the strange transcontinental friendship begins!

Both of friends have personal problems and complexes. Mary feels lonely, she looks like poop. Her mother is cruel; her father has left the family. Max is a fat man who has problems. He has no friends in real life and only Internet helps him to communicate with somebody. Though these two people have many problems, their hearts are really kind and bright. Max is pretty talented:

Max Jerry Horovitz: I have also invented some new words. “Confuzzled”, which is being confused and puzzled at the same time, “snirt”, which is a cross between snow and dirt, and “smushables”, which are squashed groceries you find at the bottom of the bag. I have sent a letter to the Oxford Dictionary people asking them to include my words but I have not heard back.

Tiny people living on the fluff, evil kangaroo, kind elephant… – it sounds like a child, and looks basically the same. However, despite the clear direction toward a children’s audience, this animation is still very interesting for adults. “Horton Hears a Who” is kind, funny and exciting. The movie has two deep moralities.

First – Do not make mountains out of molehills.

Second – if you do something not seeing it, it does not mean that it does not exist.

Horton is an elephant, living in a civilized society of the jungle beasts. He has unusual ears. No, he does not fly, flapping them like wings, like a baby elephant Dumbo. He just hears. What? -  The voices of the inhabitants of the microcosm. His neighbors don’t believe the elephant’s tails about conversation with flowers.

What is so good in “Horton Hears a Who”? Well, for example, that there is no link between people and animals. Another good thing is that humor here is really great. Whether you are child or adult you’ll laugh over jokes. And the most important is the following morality: do not want to swear, spit and scream: “What the garbage? You already got the brains to load their sermons!”

”Horton Hears a Who” is unusual movie. Funny elephant, which teaches children to imagine? A revolutionary or just crazy? No, Horton – is someone great, those who we believe. Those who are willing to imagine a lighter than air and dare to take on the most rickety bridge and go over three hundred million heads of clover, only to deliver “a stupid flower” to the mountains, where the dust particle does not hurt. Can we do that? Can understand, recognize and follow his example? I think yes. Even now we do not feel. After all, as it may sound trite, a person simply programmed to good deeds, but we often forget about it.
